I left with rather mixed feelings, I'm afraid. The combination of a strong English pound and cheap flights on EasyJet has led to hordes of English hooligans wandering the streets of Amsterdam, oversized beer bottle in one hand, oversized joint in the other, puking and pissing and yelling. It isn't pretty.
Still, it is a charming place. Aldo and I spend part of Saturday afternoon in Vondelpark, which was very pleasant. Argos hasn't changed since I first went there in 1988. And that's kind of nice. Like going home.
