I decided to create an online journal as an experimental way of communicating about my experiences during a leave year from my job, much of which will be spent in Paris, France. I guess it will be mostly reflections on cultural difference and on my own changing subjectivity.
More Details: I was born and raised in the city of Kingston, Ontario, and moved to Toronto when I was 18 to go to university. Apart from two years at Grad School in Montreal (1987-1989) I've lived in Toronto ever since. For the last 22 years or so, I have been happily attached to a wise and beautiful man named Bob. I earn my living as a high school teacher in a small alternative public school. I have tons of opinions on almost every topic, and they are not all mutually consistent.
