With what little French I understand, I see that the three minutes of silence was really astounding, especially compared to the sound of a parade.

I'm surprised that the first article (the only one I read) doesn't mention too much about the anti-gay movement. Instead, it only mentions what participants of the parade thought of the anti-gay people.

I am sure that Liberation, the newspaper that you refer to, considers it unnecessary and unwise to give anti-gay attitudes any more press than they already receive.
