What would you like for dinner the night that you arrive home?

Thanks for asking, Bob.  I guess it depends on the weather.  It will be July 31, and Toronto may still be in the thick of a heat wave.  So maybe one of your delicious Greek Salads, with crusty bread.  Or, perhaps Caprese Salad, also with crusty bread.  Or Vegetarian Nachos with Olives and Jalapenos at Paupers.  Or grilled hamburgers with a thick slice of melting cheddar, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise.  Really, anything at all would suit me just fine.

Back to North America, at last!
Where the people wash everyday, the women shave, and nobody blows smoke in your face unless you ask them nicely.

After weeks of high temperatures and humidity, the weather has mellowed; the forecast calls for seasonably warm weather to greet your return. I will stock the makings for both the salads you mention and, of course, Paupers always has plenty of Vegetarian Nachos (for readers who don't know Paupers, its our local pub at the end of the street.) I haven't hooked up the barbecue yet, however, but have been leaving it for you to do. So, if you want burgers, maybe you could hook it up while I prepare the food...? We should be able to eat in the backyard, which you might like: dining al fresco amongst maple trees, ostrich ferns and vine roses is one of the few pleasures you haven't been able to enjoy in Paris. Maybe it will help you begin to feel "at home" again....
